Department of Biblical and Theological Studies
If you think biblical scholars are boring or unapproachable and use too many big words, think again! At Northwestern College our Biblical & Theological Studies (B&TS) professors actively engage students in conversations inside and outside the classroom.
Our faculty have expertise in a variety of specialized areas such as Old Testament, New Testament, philosophy, theology, and ancient languages.
But look beyond their regalia* and you'll discover our faculty also have interests outside the scholarly world. One professor has completed an Iron Man competition and several marathons. Another restored a Mustang convertible. One used to be a strawberry farmer. Others love to canoe and camp in the boundary waters. One is an avid blogger. Many have traveled overseas for study, missions, or sight-seeing. A few have participated in archaeological digs in Israel. Others are woodworkers who spend the summer months working with their hands. And the list goes on.
With a passion for teaching and a heart for students, our B&TS professors leave their mark on everyone. They serve the entire student body by teaching 30 credits of Bible to all students...and even teach them a few big words, too!
Our goal is to prepare students to impact their world by developing a Christian worldview and competence in critical thinking, content acquisition, and skills development.
