Dr. Mary Kay Geston
Dr. Mary Kay Geston conducts the Northwestern College Women’s Chorale and Chamber Singers, teaches advanced choral conducting and choral methods, and supervises student teachers. During her tenure as conductor of the Women’s Chorale the ensemble performed at the 2004 ACDA North Central Division convention, the 2001 ACDA of Minnesota convention, and in 2003 sang Holst’s The Planets with the Minnesota Orchestra. The Women’s Chorale has been invited to sing at the 2006 Minnesota Music Educators Association convention. Geston is a frequent guest conductor for choral festivals and honor choirs across the Midwest. She has been a soprano soloist with choruses and orchestras in Minnesota, North Dakota, Colorado, and South Dakota and sang with the Robert Shaw Festival Singers in 1998 and 1999. Geston is a life member of the American Choral Directors Association and is the past president of ACDA of Minnesota. She is a member of Music Educators National Conference, the Minnesota Music Educators Association, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, National Collegiate Choral Organization and the International Federation for Choral Music.
