Mr. Marc Belton

Y. Marc Belton, Minneapolis, is senior vice president for Yoplait, Canada and New Business Development with General Mills. Belton has been with General Mills for 19 years, including division president positions in the Big G, Snacks Unlimited and New Ventures divisions. He was named a vice president in 1991, and elected a senior vice president in 1998.

Mr. Belton earned a bachelor's degree in economics at Dartmouth, and is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business with an MBA in marketing and finance.

A member of the Executive Leadership Council and its dinner chair in 1996, Mr. Belton also serves on the board of directors for Navistar International Corporation in Chicago, Urban Ventures and the New Union in Minneapolis, the Whitney M. Young Endowed Chair at The Wharton School, and as co-chair of the Minneapolis Salvation Army Capital Campaign.

Mr. Belton is an active member of his church, Solomon's Porch. He is a board member of the Minnesota Prayer Breakfast, served on the leadership board for Promise Keepers '95 and the finance committee for the '96 Billy Graham Crusade, both in Minneapolis; was chair of the '94-95 Martin Luther King Breakfast, and was '97 Homefield Community project chair. Additionally, he took part in a mission trip to Belarus, Russia

He was a featured speaker at the Living Word Christian Center's "Taking the Lead" development conference held in Chicago, the Saint Paul Prayer Breakfast and Next Church. He has also discussed leadership principles from a Christian perspective at Moody Bible School Business Network, Church Metro and the National Black MBA Association.

A native of West Hempstead, New York, he and his wife, Alicia, currently live in Minneapolis. His hobbies include golf, skiing and music.

Mr. Belton has served on the Northwestern College Board of Trustees since September 1999.
