Christ-Centered Community
In Residence Life, we seek to develop a living-learning community that is Christ-centered. Our main goal is spiritual transformation, not behavioral modification. Our rules are not intended to legislate morality, as if that can even be done. Instead, we pray students will encounter the Living God in such a way that they develop deep convictions and changed hearts.

Biblical Foundation
Transformation of the heart and mind comes from biblical truth, so it is essential that we are people of the Word. The Bible is our foundation, our compass. In addition, we are calling one another to seek, like the Psalmist, an undivided heart. A heart of integrity and not duplicity. We want the study of the Word to become integrated with our everyday life.

Academic Growth
As an academic institution, we desire our residence halls to be places that foster the pursuit of academic excellence and critical thinking. We want our rooms and lounges to be environments that are conducive to study. We hope that many conversations and events will take place, in and around the halls, that challenge thinking and build wisdom.

Relational Development
Knowing that a great amount of emotional and social development takes place during the college years, our residence life program is designed to help students to mature in these areas. We desire for our students to learn to be aware of and manage their emotions, especially when interacting with others. We want our students to continue to learn social and relational skills that are important for life. Residents should be stretched and encouraged to step out of their "comfort zones." During times of conflict and tension between roommates and friends, our hope is for students to practice biblical conflict resolution.

Small Group Identity
In a large college community, students can often feel disconnected without the intentional establishment of smaller communities within the whole. We believe that no one person should ever become isolated or feel as if they are without a personal support structure. We believe in the urgency to create community and small groups within the residences that foster deep, authentic friendships, especially with people of diverse backgrounds. Our goal is to build a sense of family, connectedness and accountability on every floor.

Integration
Healthy living is fostered when there is balance between knowing, being and doing. The integration of faith, living and learning involves the integration of mind, body and soul. Our hope is that students will live a balanced life of intellectual knowledge, having personal well being and impacting the world for Christ through action.
