Recitals

One of the richest experiences for students in the Music Department is the Recital. Whether listening to the performance of a fellow student or a seasoned faculty member, or performing for the first time as a freshman or in Senior Recital after years of training, the Recital provides an opportunity for growth in musicianship, the celebration of achievement, and the occasion to enjoy great music. Each performance takes place in the beautiful setting of Nazareth Chapel on the campus of Northwestern College. All recitals are free and open to the public.

The Faculty Artist Series offers the opportunity to experience the rich musical gifts of Northwestern College Music Department faculty and friends. Each series brings a delightful collection of solo and chamber music, featuring a variety of musical styles performed by professional vocalists and instrumentalists.

General Student Recitals (GSR) take place on Tuesdays at 1:15 pm in Nazareth Chapel. Eight to ten students perform during each recital, offering a wide variety of musical styles and instrumentation. All music majors and minors are provided this performance venue and each student generally performs once per semester.

Junior/Senior Recitals take place on Thursdays at 1:20 pm in Nazareth Chapel. Recitals consist of inspiring performances by junior or senior music majors. Recitals provide an excellent opportunity for these accomplished students to demonstrate the fine musicianship they have developed through their years of study at Northwestern College.
