LORD, teach us to pray. Luke 11:1

Moms in Touch is a group of praying parents of NWC students who meet on campus on the 2nd and the 4th Wednesday of each month throughout the school year. Together, they pray for our campus, the students, staff, faculty, and everything that comprises Northwestern. Each gathering will be from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in Cafe Naz (in a room located at the very back of the dining room- N1168).

If you live far away or your schedule is such that you are unable to join them, you are still welcome to pray "with" them from wherever you are. The theme and content of each gathering will be posted below, so you can join in praying for our campus regardless of your location.

If you have specific needs that you would like this group to pray for, please send your prayer requests to Dawn Iglesia at gopray@charter.net.

THIS WEEK'S PRAYER SHEET:

October 28, 2009
Theme: Love

PRAISE – Praising God for who He is, His attributes, His name, His character.

Psalm 136:1-9 CEV Praise the LORD! He is good. God's love never fails. Praise the God of all gods. God's love never fails. Praise the Lord of lords. God's love never fails. Only God works great miracles. God's love never fails. With wisdom he made the sky. God's love never fails. The Lord stretched the earth over the ocean. God's love never fails. He made the bright lights in the sky. God's love never fails. He lets the sun rule each day. God's love never fails. He lets the moon and the stars rule each night. God's love never fails.

Romans 5:5-8 NLT And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

Romans 8:35-39 NLT Who can separate us from Christ's love? Can trouble or hard times or harm or hunger? Can nakedness or danger or war? It is written, "Because of you, we face death all day long. We are considered as sheep to be killed." —(Psalm 44:22) No! In all these things we will do even more than win! We owe it all to Christ, who has loved us. I am absolutely sure that not even death or life can separate us from God's love. Not even angels or demons, the present or the future, or any powers can do that. Not even the highest places or the lowest, or anything else in all creation can do that. Nothing at all can ever separate us from God's love because of what Christ Jesus our Lord has done.

Ephesians 3:16-19 NLT I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

I John 3:1 NLT See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are! But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children because they don’t know him.

I John 4:7-10 NLT Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
God showed how much he loved us by sending his one and only Son into the world so that we might have eternal life through him. This is real love—not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins.

CONFESSION – Silent prayer time. Psalm 51:1-2 NLT Have mercy on me, O God, because of your unfailing love. Because of your great compassion, blot out the stain of my sins. Wash me clean from my guilt. Purify me from my sin.

THANKSGIVING – Thank God for answers to prayer, for what He has done. II Samuel 7:18b CEV Then he sat there and prayed: LORD All-Powerful, my family and I don't deserve what you have already done for us,

INTERCESSION – I pray that _______ will know the love that God has for him/her, and that ________will trust that love. I pray that ______ will be convinced in every fiber of her/his being that God is love. I pray that _______ will be a person who lives in love and as a result lives in God. I pray that ________ will come to understand and experience that the culmination of this lifestyle is that God lives in him/her fully.
