(We start our time together with):

PRAISE – Praise God for who He is, His attributes, His Name, His character.

  • Focus: (example) God is good - virtuous, excellent, upright. (Each time we'll have a different focus.)
  • Scripture: Ps 25:8, Ps 34:8, Ps 145:9, Jer. 33:11, Nahum 1:7, John 10:11, 1Tim. 4:4, 2Peter 1:3,4. (Bring your Bible - we'll read the scripture for the day together.)

CONFESSION – Individual silent prayer time. Confess known sin with a repentant heart, ask God to reveal sin, listen to the Holy Spirit.

  • Scripture: (example) Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Psalm 139:23, 24

THANKSGIVING – Thank God for answers, for what He has done. Try not to “ask” at this time.

  • Scripture: (example) Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commands. Deut 7:9

INTERCESSION – coming to God on behalf of others. (We form groups of two or three and pray for Northwestern students, faculty, staff etc. beginning with our own students.)

  • Scripture: (for our student) (example) You are _____hiding place; You will protect ________ from trouble and surround ________ with songs of deliverance. You will instruct _______ and teach_______ in the way ________ should go. You will counsel and watch over ______. Psalm 32:7,8
