Dr. Alford H. Ottley
Dr. Alford H. Ottley comes to Northwestern with more than 30 years of leadership experience in education, government and the private sector. Most recently, Dr. Ottley served as Associate Provost and Acting Dean of Community Outreach and Extension Services at the University of the District of Columbia.

Dr. Ottley’s prior experience is extensive. Past positions include Senior Educator for Science and Mathematics assigned to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Headmaster for Faith Christian Academy (Martinsburg, W.Va.) and Vice President for Finance and Administration for Shepherd University (Shepherdstown, W.Va.) and Capitol College (Laurel, Md.).

Dr. Ottley holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Science in chemistry from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill. Other degrees include a Master of Business and Public Administration from Southeastern University in Washington, D.C. and the Doctor of Philosophy degree in leadership from Florida State University. He is also a minister ordained by the Southern Baptist Association and has served as an elder and speaking pastor at Covenant Baptist Church in Shepherdstown, W.Va.
