May 9, 2008 - Envision Excellence Stands at Nearly $22 Million and Campus Changes Underway
Highlighted by several recent significant gifts, the Envision Excellence capital campaign is quickly closing in on $22 million in gifts, pledges, and earnings. The Community Life Commons, one of three components of the capital campaign, remains the focus of fundraising efforts in 2008.
Designed to serve as the hub for students, faculty, staff, alumni and guests to come together as one community and located in the heart of campus, the Community Life Commons will serve as the “family room”. It will be a place to feed every member of the Northwestern community— body, mind, soul and spirit
Following commencement ceremonies in mid-May, campus changes began as construction for the changing of the campus road and addition of a parking structure are underway. If you have not already financially contributed to the Envision Excellence campaign, Now is the Time! With the awarding of a $750,000 challenge grant earlier this year from the prestigious Kresge Foundation, your gift to the campaign and the Community Life Commons goes even further.
March 6, 2008 - Envision Excellence Campaign Receives $500,000 Gift
The Envision Excellence campaign recently received one of its largest gifts to date as a donor who wishes to remain anonymous gave a $500,000 gift. The gift was designated towards the Community Life Commons, the signature component of the Envision Excellence campaign.
Amy Bragg Carey, Vice President of Advancement, stated, “We are so thrilled and feel incredibly blessed to receive a gift of this magnitude. It is a joy to see friends of the College partner in support of the mission and vision of Northwestern. A gift of this size has a great impact on the momentum and progress of the Envision Excellence campaign.”
As the third six-figure gift by the donor to Envision Excellence, this gift brings the donor’s total campaign contributions to more than a million dollars.
Envision Excellence is a five-year, $32 million campaign that entered its public phase in November of 2007. The three components of the campaign include an increase in the Northwestern Fund (annual scholarship fund), increase in the endowment and the building of the Community Life Commons. Currently, the campaign stands at nearly two-thirds complete, totaling over $21 million raised in gifts, pledges, and earnings.
