ST. PAUL, Minn. (Nov. 29, 2007) – Top-seeded Indiana Wesleyan had no trouble in their National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Tournament debut for 2007, as the Wildcats defeated Southwestern Assemblies of God University (SAGU) (Tex.) in a quick three-game set.
Rebekah Reichard had 14 kills and hit a personal average of .382 to pace Indiana Wesleyan who hit .533 in the first game before averaging .281 for the match.
All facets of the Wildcats’ game was on versus the Lions, as they held a strong advantage in kills (46-23) and bocks (9-2).
Shannon Millen added nine kills for the Wildcats, who entered the three-day event as the tournament favorites.
Both Indiana Wesleyan and SAGU will play yet another match on Thursday before wrapping up pool play on Friday. IWU will face Bryan College at 6 p.m., while SAGU takes on host-team Northwestern at the same time.
