Master's Roleder Sisters Carry the Momentum to Saturday.
ST. PAUL, Minn. (Nov. 30, 2007) – Friday night signified the end of the road for the 2006 National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Champion, as #6 Cedarville University lost to #3 The Master’s College in each team’s final pool play at the 2007 NCCAA National Tournament. The Roleder sisters in Rachel and Amanda were strong for a second consecutive game, throttling The Master’s with 18 and 16 kills as the Mustangs won 3-0 (30-28, 30-23, 30-22). In their previous match versus Palm Beach Atlantic, the two sisters combined for 46 kills in a five-game match.
The Mustangs were solid on offense throughout the entire contest, hitting .223 for the match, compared to .185 for Cedarville. Master’s also racked up 62 kills while limiting the Yellow Jackets to 48.
Sarah Zeltman led Cedarville with 16 kills, while Kylee Husek added 11. Katie Moon recorded 37 assists for the Yellow Jackets in the loss.
With the win, The Master’s advanced to Saturday’s championship bracket. As the #2 seed in Pool B, the Mustangs will face #1 Indiana Wesleyan in a 12 p.m. semifinal match, with the winner advancing to the 3:30 p.m. championship.
