Residence: The Row (Southeast, Snelling Terrace, Antioch)

Hometown: Vancouver (The most beautiful city in the world!!!!)

Undergrad/Grad School: University of British Columbia, Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary

What are you passionate about: I’m really passionate about people getting to know God in a deeper more intimate manner. But I love it when people are grappling with something or don’t really understand something concerning God or their relationship with him, and then through a teaching or sermon or some other medium God speaks and they have a “light bulb” moment when the lights come on because God has brought clarity to their situation. I absolute LOVE and LIVE for those moments.

But I’m also passionate about sports and food. I always wanted to be a restaurant owner so I could walk into my restaurant and eat for free whenever I wanted.

What do you enjoy about NW students: I love the fact that the people are so nice. I never attended a Christian school until I went to seminary, so being on a college campus where people are cordial and friendly is an amazing thing.

What’s the best thing about your job: I get to hang out with my AMAZING staff as well as everyone in Antioch and just do life together, which consists of a lot of fun, but also a lot of deep and meaningful conversations.

Favorite memory from your college days: I loved just hanging out with my friends after a long day of studying or class. We’d often go out for bubble tea or better yet sushi at night because there was a place in Vancouver that had ½ price sushi after 10pm.

What’s your vision for NW: A place where people are able to encourage, correct, and ultimately spur one another in their relationships with God in order that we all may know him more deeply.

What do you love about Residence Life: The people are absolutely wonderful. I often tell others that I couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to work with. It’s always the people that make the place and thus far I have nothing but a positive impression when it comes to NWC and the Twin Cities. In residence life we do a lot of work like all other departments, but it makes a huge difference when you’re having fun and you can call the people whom you work with friends. The department is also truly flat, which is a testament to the leadership. In that although there may be people at different levels on the totem pole, everyone and their opinions are equally valued and cherished.

What piece of advice would you give to incoming NW students: I would say take advantage of everything that NW has to offer. There are so many amazing people here so I would say to step out and extend yourself to others.
