NWC Responds
Welcome.
We have created this portion of nwc.edu in response to an extraordinary situation we find ourselves in as an institution: A website has been launched by people identifying themselves as "Friends of Northwestern," which "consists of former trustees and alumni who are concerned about the state of affairs at Northwestern." These individuals contend that "what's happening in its [Northwestern's] ministry is a story of missional and spiritual drift due to failure at the highest levels of leadership."
These are strong statements, and the public manner in which they have been shared has been a shock to our community. We believe and prayerfully assert that the claims being made are not true and can confidently assure you that Northwestern has been, is, and always will be an institution deeply committed to the biblical principles on which we were founded.
While we do not see the value in engaging in back-and-forth debate via electronic media (websites, blogs, e-mails, etc.), we are seeking God's guidance to help us restore and build relationships and engage in dialogue within the community of Northwestern.
