What’s the most important thing you’ve learned from NWC?
My time at Northwestern served to solidify my belief in the everlasting Word of God, and to remind me that I am “the light of the world” (Matt. 5:14). The world is a cold and lonely place, and Northwestern reminded me that the same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in me.

What are your plans after graduation?
After graduating, I’ll play a few rounds of golf, and then begin a full-time purchasing position with Superior Steel Supply in Spicer, Minn. on June 1.

How, specifically, has NWC prepared you for your future?
Northwestern provided me with a solid education, an education full of experience in my field and
the opportunity to learn from my mistakes. That my education was grounded in the Word of God and rooted in experience gave me the confidence to live out the truth as I graduate.

Who is your most influential professor and why?
Dr. Jason DeRouchie taught my Old Testament course, and he taught it with passion and love for the LORD. Every class, he would bring the subject matter full circle and speak with conviction and insight directly into our lives. He never just covered material; he taught with the Spirit of God.

What is something you’ll always remember about NWC?
I’ll remember the chapels more than anything. I’ve often come into chapel in various states of disarray, and there I encountered the Lord through worship and teaching from men and women who hear the voice of God.

How have you, as a person, seen yourself change over the years at NWC?
Through my time at Northwestern I have learned that my identity is in Christ, and I have come to know more of who I am in Him. The future holds much that is unknown, but I know He’s always with me.
