Sam Reyes | Graphic Design ’09 | Guatemala City, Guatemala

Sam Reyes
Major: Graphic Design
Hometown: Guatemala City, Guatemala

What’s the most important thing you’ve learned from NWC?
The most important thing that I’ve learned from NWC is how to make my relationship with Christ my own and not that of my friends and school.

What are your plans after graduation?
I hope to find a job in Guatemala where my wife, Hannah, and I will be living for a few years.

How, specifically, has NWC prepared you for your future?
Northwestern has showed me how to relate to the world in a Christlike manner. The college helped me find a way to incorporate my faith and beliefs in everything I do: graphic design, art, relationships, etc.

Who is your most influential professor and why?
My graphic design professor, John Printy, has been like a mentor to me. His passion for helping students express their creativity while praising God has been a source of inspiration.

What is something you’ll always remember about NWC?
I’ll always remember the friendships I made during my freshman year and how we, as a group, have matured throughout our years. I’ll also remember my wedding in Nazareth Chapel.

How have you, as a person, seen yourself change over the years at NWC?
I went from being a bachelor to a married man. That’s pretty big. I feel like I’ve matured in all aspects of my life.
