The parts of the discipline of history that most intrigue and fascinate me are...

I am intrigued most by the discovery of elements that illuminate and verify the Bible and learning from the careers of historical figures that teach us new things about their time periods.

One of the things I enjoy most in the classroom is...

I enjoy telling the great stories of history!

Currently, I am working on...

The Egyptian background of the account of Joseph in Genesis, and also the personal letters of soldiers in the American Civil War.

Some interesting things I have done in the past include...

Serving with Army Intelligence in Washington, D.C. and Germany, and excavating s royal tomb in the Valley of the Kings, Egypt.

Books which have shaped who I am as an historian:

Zur Verwaltung des Mittleren und Neuen Reichs, W. Helck

Signs and Wonders Upon Pharaoh, J. Wilson

Advice I would give to college students:

Take courses and major in what you like- worry about jobs later. Also, after taking a lecture course, save your notes! You never know when they will come in handy!
