Applying as A Transfer Student

If you have earned college credit after graduating from high school, you are considered a transfer student.

1. Complete the Application for Admission

2. Submit official or unofficial transcripts

·         College Transcripts

·         High School Transcripts are not required if you have at least 6 college credits applicable to your desired degree program at NWC

Credit Transfer

Northwestern College accepts coursework with grades of C- or higher from accredited and some non-accredited institutions.  Courses are transferred on an individual basis.

Bible Requirements for Transfer Students

Transfer students are required to complete Bible courses on a proportional basis according to the number of transferable credits that are brought in before becoming a NWC student.

Are there on-campus jobs available?
Yes! Many students earn up to $2,400 per year through work study. See open student employment positions.

Do transfer students live on campus?
Yes!  Transfer students can live on campus if they transfer to Northwestern in the Fall or Spring semester.  Students under the age of 21 are required to live on campus (unless you are married or live with your parents). To see your housing options, visit nwc.edu/dorms.

What are Northwestern's graduation requirements?
Transfer students must complete a minimum of 50 percent of their major course requirements at NWC, along with the final 30 credits of their degree.

How will my credits transfer to Northwestern?

Do I have to submit official transcripts?
Official transcripts are not necessary for us to evaluate your past or current coursework.  Initially in the application process, unofficial transcripts are acceptable.  Official transcripts will be required before a student registers for class at Northwestern. 

Does Northwestern offer evaluations of coursework I have not taken yet at my current school?
Yes!  We will evaluate coursework you would like to take before you transfer to Northwestern.
