Our professors in the Biblical & Theological Studies (B&TS) department have a passion for teaching, a heart for students, and a mind for scholarship. They leave their mark on the entire student body by teaching 30 credits of Bible to each Northwestern student.

The goal of the B&TS department is to prepare students to influence the world by developing a Christian worldview and competence in critical thinking by:
teaching the Bible as "the whole counsel of God"
training students to interpret and apply biblical content
helping students develop a life submitted to Christ
equipping them to develop a biblical worldview
exposing students to ministry
enhancing a climate of love and respect

Students from the Biblical & Theological Studies program at Northwestern share about the community they've built, the deeper knowledge and understanding provided by faculty and the impact it's had on their lives.
Northwestern students have the opportunity to go to Israel for a whole semester or just a few weeks. The Biblical & Theological Studies department will take another student team to Israel this summer (July 2012) for a 3-week long experience.
Our faculty have expertise in biblical studies, theology, philosophy, ancient languages, the Dead Sea Scrolls, biblical interpretation, church health, leadership, urban ministry, archaeology, the intertestamental period, church history, apologetics, ancient warfare, ethics, reconciliation, and biblical worldview.
