Research
My current research is divided between the areas of rethinking Youth Ministry—how do we work with youth in their everyday life and how—do we create and design significant learning experiences with students?
Professional Experience
Prior to my current position, I have served for fourteen years in urban multicultural settings in Milwaukee, Wis. and Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota as Vice President of Twin Cities Urban Reconciliation Network (TURN), the senior, associate, and assistant pastor at three multicultural congregations. I am an ordained minister in the Baptist General Conference (headquarters in Arlington, Ill.).
Hobbies
In my time away from school I enjoy travel with my family, riding my bike, and serving my community in North Minneapolis.
Family
I have been married for 24 years and am the father of four children: A son who recently graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences at Florida A & M University, a son who is enrolled in the School of Theatre at University of Southern California, a daughter who is enrolled in the School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at North Carolina A&T University, and a daughter who is in high school.
